September ‘26 Newsletter
Welcome to the Art Room!
I am thrilled to start my first year at Darlington. I’ve heard wonderful things about our students and can’t wait for a creative year ahead. GO REDBIRDS!
Each month, this newsletter will share updates and showcase the hard work of our K-8 artists in the studio.
September Focus:
Our first few classes focus on building community. I will share a “Get to Know Ms. Lynch” presentation, and the students will work on an “About Me” worksheet so I can learn all about them.
All art room expectations align with our school’s R.O.S.I.E standards. We will spend time practicing routines so that our studio remains a safe, productive, and fun place for everyone to create.
Our art room GOLDEN rule is: “Do your best, and when you know better, do better.” We will focus on growth, effort, and continuous improvement throughout the year.
Secret Artist: In each class, two unnamed students will be selected as Secret Artists. If they exceed our R.O.S.I.E. expectations, they earn R.O.S.I.E. Bucks and a positive call or note home!
Accountability Pathway: If a student needs help meeting standards, we follow four supportive steps.
Reminder: A gentle prompt about our expectations.
Pit Stop: Moving spots or getting a drink to rest.
Heart-To-Heart: A quick 1-on-1 hallway conversation to redirect.
Parent/Guardian Contact: Partnering with home to make a plan together.
Upcoming Events:
International Dot Day is September 15th. Come to school wearing dots and make your mark!
I look forward to a fantastic year of art-making! Feel free to reach out anytime with questions.
Happy art-making,
Ms. Lynch
